Symphony Technology Group (STG) announced today the launch of Trellix, a new business delivering extended detection and response (XDR) to organisations with a focus on accelerating technology innovation through machine learning and automation.
In 2021 STG acquired both FireEye and McAfee. In October 2021 the merger of the two companies was completed and are now given the new name: Trellix. “We are incredibly excited to have Trellix in the STG portfolio,” said William Chisholm, managing partner, STG. “Customers can expect Trellix’s living security platform to deliver bold innovation across the XDR market.”
Not all of McAfee Enterprise is bundled into Trellix, with the secure service edge portfolio, which includes cloud access security broker, secure web gateway, and zero-trust network access set to be separated later this quarter.
Trellix is said to have a combined customer base of 40,000, about 5,000 employees and almost $2 billion in revenue.
